    Yes we know it is forbidden for physical contact between males and females, even during dance, but traditional Balkar dance also upholds this culture/honour.

    taking a maiden’s hand by a male – even during the dance – is considered taboo in daghestan, chechnya, ingushetia and historically might have resulted in a fatal outcome for the male…
